Our newly appointed patron, Mrs Frances Farr has been a long time supporter of Jambouree Choir, and of individual members. Thank you Frances for all your support over the years.
Frances was born in Perth and her interest in theatre and singing began from an early age.
She met John Scrimger as a young woman and regularly performed in concert and cabaret with him. Many of the arrangements Jambouree sing, Frances has sung too. She particularly enjoyed John’s arrangement of, ‘The Holy City’ in our last concert as she remembered singing it.
Frances was also a member of the Choir of St Andrew’s Church in Atholl Street which closed a number of years ago.
She has always been a patron of the arts and in particular, Perth Concert Hall and the Theatre.
When Frances married, she moved to Crieff and supported the Arts there too in addition to continuing support of Perth Theatre.
Frances had a very fine soprano voice and performed in venues such as Gleneagles Hotel and throughout Scotland. Equally at home in Scottish songs, church music and classics, often accompanied by John, the excerpts of her lovely voice, can be heard in the songs below.
Thank you Frances for all your support and encouragement and we look forward to seeing you, Barbara and Brian at Jambouree concerts to come.
