Jambouree Cabaret singer Liam Bonthrone won 1st Prize in the Hugh S. Roberton and William Allan Prize for Scottish Song on 18th November at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He is the first ever 1st Year student to have won the Awards for this prestigious Competition which is open to all students at the Conservatoire, and in which around 30 students were competing for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes. The adjudicator was international Scottish tenor, Alasdair Elliott. Liam received a cash prize, trophy and future singing engagements. Liam has been trained by our own Fiona Brownsmith since he was in primary school, and is currently studying with Alan Watt at the Conservatoire. Liam will be singing and accompanying at our forthcoming Christmas Concert on 14th December, and in the Civic Service on 21 December.
